Evening Strains That Are Not a Knockout
There is a gap on most dispensary shelves between the daytime sativas and the flatten-you indicas, and it is where a lot of patients actually want to be: relaxed, still awake, still able to hold a conversation. These are the jars that live in that gap.
What our staff hand over
Warm and mood-first, with body relaxation that arrives gently instead of dropping.
Caryophyllene · Limonene
Social for the first stretch, settled for the second. Good for company.
Caryophyllene · Humulene
Balanced enough to take the edge off without ending the evening.
Myrcene · Caryophyllene
Sweet, easy, and heavier than this list's average — the pick when you want to lean further down.
Caryophyllene · Limonene
Fruit-forward and calm, with a mellow head that stays pleasant rather than heavy.
Caryophyllene · Humulene
Slow onset and full-body calm, for evenings with a long runway ahead of them.
Myrcene · Limonene
The middle of the shelf is underrated
Patients tend to shop at the extremes because that is how the case is marketed to them. In practice the moderate hybrids get finished more often than the heavy jars, because they fit more evenings.
If your last three purchases have all been over 24% and you have not enjoyed them more, the middle of the shelf is worth a visit.
How to tell where a jar lands before you buy
Two questions cover it: what is the terpene profile, and what did it test at. A limonene- or caryophyllene-led hybrid in the high teens will sit exactly in this range; a myrcene-led indica in the mid-twenties will not.
Every strain page here lists both, and the counter at Colcord and Roland will pull the figures for whatever is in the case that day.
Plan around the drive
Whatever you buy, it stays sealed and out of reach until you are home. That includes the Roland drive-thru lane, and it includes passengers.
If you are visiting from Arkansas, buy for consumption in Oklahoma. We will not help plan a purchase around crossing a state line with product.
Pick it up in person
Availability rotates with what our growers finish, so the live menu is the accurate source for what is in each case today. Valid OMMA card and matching photo ID required at both stores.
Common questions
What is a good evening strain that will not put me to sleep?
Sunset Sherbert and Cherry Pie are the two we hand over most often for that exact request, both in the high teens to low twenties.
Are hybrids weaker than indicas?
No. Hybrid describes the genetic balance, not the strength. Plenty of hybrids on our shelf test higher than the indicas next to them.
How do I stop a strain from making me too sleepy?
Use less of it, and check the terpene profile — the myrcene-led jars are the ones patients most often describe as too heavy.
Do you carry these at both stores?
Both Colcord and Roland stock from the same growers, but cases differ day to day. The live menu shows what each store has right now.
