    OG Kush Strain

The fuel-and-pine backbone that half the modern shelf descends from.

OG Kush is a hybrid strain from Chemdawg x Hindu Kush (widely reported), typically testing 19–25% THC and <1% CBD. It leans myrcene and limonene on the terpene side, smells like diesel and pine over a sour lemon rind note, and most patients describe it as heavy-headed, body calm, talkative early. It's a evening strain that people reach for end of a long shift, evening wind-down, experienced patients — ask for it at RedBilly in Colcord or Roland, Oklahoma.

OG Kush is the strain most of the current shelf is quietly related to. If a jar in front of you smells like fuel, there is a good chance OG sits somewhere in its family tree.

The nose is the giveaway. Diesel first, pine underneath, then a sour citrus rind edge that shows up when you break a bud apart. It is not a sweet strain and it does not pretend to be.

Effects come in two stages. The head goes first — patients describe it as loud, occasionally chatty — and the body follows a few minutes behind and settles heavy in the shoulders and legs.

Because the front end hits hard, we point experienced patients here more often than new ones. If you are still learning your tolerance, a smaller amount than you think you need is the right call.

The exact parentage is argued about constantly. The widely reported cross is Chemdawg with a Hindu Kush landrace, and the phenotype spread since then is wide enough that two OG jars from different growers can smell noticeably different.

Appetite tends to show up late in the session, which is worth planning around if you are using it before bed rather than before dinner.

    OG Kush questions we get

Is OG Kush indica or sativa?

It is a hybrid that leans indica in the body while the head effects arrive first, which is why people describe it so differently depending on dose.

Why does OG Kush smell like gas?

The profile is heavy in myrcene and caryophyllene with a sharp limonene top note, and that combination reads to most noses as diesel over pine.

Is OG Kush good for beginners?

It is not our first recommendation. The onset is abrupt and the THC range sits high, so newer patients usually have a better first experience with something gentler.

    What does OG stand for?

There is no settled answer. Ocean Grown and Original Gangster are both claimed by different people in the strain's history, and no version has been documented well enough to call it fact.

Strains rotate with what our growers bring in. Check today's live menu to see if OG Kush — or something close to it — is on the shelf right now.
