    Gelato Strain

Balanced, flavorful, and the one people ask for by name.

Gelato is a hybrid strain from Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint GSC, typically testing 20–26% THC and <1% CBD. It leans caryophyllene and limonene on the terpene side, smells like sweet berry and cream with a citrus snap, and most patients describe it as euphoric, relaxed, talkative. It's a anytime strain that people reach for social use, afternoon, mood — ask for it at RedBilly in Colcord or Roland, Oklahoma.

Gelato is the flavor strain. Sweet, creamy, a little citrus — it tastes good even out of a cheap piece of glass, and that is most of why it stays popular.

Effects sit right in the middle. Enough head lift to feel it, enough body to stay comfortable. It handles an afternoon or an evening equally well.

It comes out of the Bay Area Cookies family: Sunset Sherbet crossed with Thin Mint GSC. That lineage is responsible for both the dessert flavor and the dark purple streaking you see on a well-grown batch.

Caryophyllene leads, which is unusual for something that tastes this sweet — it is the peppery terpene, and you catch it on the back of the exhale under the berry. Limonene and humulene fill in the citrus and the earthy finish.

Because the effects land so evenly, Gelato is one of the few strains we are comfortable recommending for company. It does not flatten people and it does not make most of them anxious, so it works when you want to be social rather than horizontal.

The catch is that Gelato is now more of a family than a single cultivar. Gelato #33, #41, Bacio, Acai — they share a name and diverge from there. Ask which cut we actually have in; a #41 and a #33 do not smoke the same.

It moves quickly at both stores. Gelato and Gelato crosses are among the names patients ask for by name at the counter, so the live menu is the honest answer on whether it is here today.

    Gelato questions we get

    Is Gelato indica or sativa?

Gelato is a true balanced hybrid — roughly even, with effects in the head and the body.

    Why is Gelato so popular?

Flavor, mostly. The berry-and-cream terpene profile is unusual, and the effects are moderate enough that most patients tolerate it well.

    What is Gelato crossed with?

Sunset Sherbet crossed with Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, which puts it squarely in the Cookies family.

Are all Gelato strains the same?

No. Gelato has many numbered phenotypes and crosses, and they differ in smell, look and strength. Ask us which specific cut is on the shelf.

Strains rotate with what our growers bring in. Check today's live menu to see if Gelato — or something close to it — is on the shelf right now.
